The Mekhong River is a natural border between Thailand and the countries of Laos and Cambodia.
In the Nongkhai Province it flows someimes in broad open areas, and sometimes through rocky areas that resemble a delta as can be seen in the pictures.
The river provides a livelihood for the many fishermen, water for crops and a means of travelling around the area. It is the border to all of the Northern and the Eastern Provinces of the Isaans Region.
