... is an area with some pleasant cool forested mountainous regions together with large Ubonrat Dam with resort facilities on the edge of the huge reservoir.
The pictures on the left were taken at a small temple hidden in the hills to the east of Udon Thani.
A 2km walk up the hill behind the temple will give a wonderful view as far as Laos. Beware you must be VERY fit since the path is almost vertical - too much for some old guys, hence no pictures of Laos
